Sue Shrader- Hanes LMFT

Sue Shrader- Hanes, MS, LMFT has worked school based programs for 31 years, beginning with O’Farrell Community School in southeast San Diego with a very diverse student population,  3 rural elementary schools on the U.S. Mexican border where she gained specialty in border issues, Mexican American and Native American populations, to San Diego Mesa College for the last 13 years. She is well versed in working with young people, and a specialty in trauma resolution using EMDR.. As a family therapist, she is adept at trans-generational transmission, acculturation and the difficulty of being the first generation in the United States.   Trans-generational transmission is the spill down effect of the parenting and experiences from the generations before. Sue is well known in the academic community for her focus on diversity and equity.

Other populations she has worked with include military family dynamics, blended families, and her current specialty focuses on young adults, ages 18-24.

Keep it simple, that is my motto.  Using specific research based techniques and a world of experience, I take a common sense approach to treating clients to alleviate symptoms and return them to normal functioning.  The use of EMDR, a trauma resolution technique used by the FBI, CIA and many therapist gifs her a specialty in resolving long term trauma successfully without spending years in therapy.  Sue plans on attending the LENS training in September 2018.

Hello… I saw a job posting for an Outstanding Therapist/Independent Contractor position. I AM VERY INTERESTED. It looks as though you may have filled the position. I would like to submit my resume for review should another position become available. I would prefer part time and am relocating to Del Mar in the upcoming week. I have extensive clinical inpatient and outpatient training with adolescents and adults. I am a great team player and have an upbeat and positive disposition. I hope to hear from you. Thank you, Jennifer Walker MA, LMFT
